Optometrist
Dr. Jane Gan is a highly skilled and dedicated optometrist who brings a wealth of experience to Briarwood Vision Center. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from SCCO in Fullerton, CA, and her undergraduate degree at the University of Washington. Dr. Gan started Briarwood Vision Center in 2006 and has been providing comprehensive eye care to the Renton community consistently since then.
Dr. Gan is known for her patient-centered approach, taking the time to listen to each patient’s needs and concerns, and working closely with them to develop personalized treatment plans. Her expertise in the latest diagnostic technologies and treatment options allows her to provide her patients with the highest quality care.
Dr. Gan is especially passionate about myopia control, a cutting-edge area of optometry that focuses on slowing down the progression of nearsightedness in children and young adults. Dr. Gan has extensive experience in diagnosing and managing myopia and has helped many patients successfully control the progression of their nearsightedness. To that end, she is currently certified with MiSight contact lenses, the only FDA soft contact lens to slow down the progression of myopia. Dr. Gan is able to provide her patients with personalized myopia control plans that are tailored to meet their unique needs and goals.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Gan is actively involved in the optometry community. She is a member of AOA, OPW, and Vision Source. She regularly participates in continuing education courses and stays up to date with the latest advancements in the field. She also enjoys spending her free time with her family, traveling, and baking special treats.
Optometrist
Dr. Wang spent most of his youth growing up in the suburbs of Washington DC. He is a graduate of UC Berkeley where he received his Bachelor of Arts degree. After a brief stint in finance, he decided to switch careers and went back to UC Berkeley to earn his Doctorate in Optometry. During his training, Dr. Wang completed clinical rotations at the American Lake VA Hospital, Vandenberg Air Force Base, and the Colorado Optometric Center.
Dr. Wang has over twenty years of experience as an optometrist, providing comprehensive eye exams, and contact lens exams, as well as treatment and management of ocular disease. He is committed to providing thorough, personalized care for each of his patients. Dr. Wang currently resides in Issaquah with his wife and two daughters. When not in the office, you may find him hiking or running in the beautiful outdoors of the Pacific Northwest.
Optician and Office Manager
Robin graduated from School of Opticianry at Seattle Central Community College in 2002 with an AAS degree in Applied Science and has been gaining valuable experience in the optical field ever since. She loves meeting new people and learning about exciting advances in opticianry. She is skilled in choosing eyewear for every need, and will always give an honest opinion! Robin also excels in training new contact lens users. A true Seattleite, Robin was born and raised in Seattle and now makes her home in the Renton area. Robin is a sports nut and is especially passionate about the Seattle Mariners, baseball in general, and NFL football. In her free time, she enjoys reading, cooking, studying history and spending time with her family.
Frame Stylist and Front Desk
Yoshi has been in customer service straight out of high school, most of it for custom picture framing. She started her career in the eyecare field in 2010. Yoshi enjoys helping people choose the best eyeglasses for fashion, and vision needs. She’ll help to schedule an appointment and do her best to explain insurance benefits so it is easy to understand. On some days, she’ll also help with some of the pre-testing. After being part of the state apprentice program to become a licensed optician, she continues to study and work towards her Dispensing Optician License. During Yoshi’s spare time, she likes to study the Bible and volunteer to teach people about the Bible. She has three fur babies, all rescue dogs, that she enjoys spending time with.
